Ski holiday in the Montafon
Silvretta Montafon is a paradise for skiers, freeriders and snowboarders. In the 10th largest ski area in Austria, 140 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes from easy to challenging, 35 modern lifts and a breathtaking mountain landscape await you. At the Vermala you stay at the gates of the ski area, at the entrance to the Garfrescha cable car with valley descent (350 metres). The WildPass from 3 days enables ski area hopping - 1 ticket for 5 Montafon ski areas, 297 kilometres of pistes & 79 lifts.
Our hotel shuttle takes you to the Garfrescha, Valisera and Grasjoch cable cars every day. In the evening, we will be happy to pick you up again at the Garfrescha cable car in the valley.

Tobogganing in the Montafon
On runners through the night
Experience unlimited tobogganing fun - a winter holiday in Austria wouldn't be complete without this highlight, especially for families! A real adventure awaits you right outside the Genusshotel Vermala, on the Garfreschabahn: the longest floodlit night toboggan run in Vorarlberg. Enjoy unforgettable winter fun on the 5.5 km of the Garfrescha natural toboggan run. Toboggans can be conveniently hired from us at the hotel, and tickets for the evening runs are available directly at the Garfreschabahn.

Cross-country skiing on a winter holiday
In time with nature
90 km of well-prepared trails for classic and skating style along the 33 cross-country ski trails in the Montafon (difficulty level easy and medium) are available - 17 km of which are in St. Gallenkirch.
A highlight is the trail on the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe at the foot of Piz Buins - the highest mountain in Vorarlberg. At 2,032 metres above sea level, it is the highest trail in the entire valley and impresses with breathtaking views of the 3,000 metre peaks of the Silvretta Group over 21 km.

With the Montafon Brandnertal multi-day WildPass, you cover 10 winter sports areas in the Montafon, Brandnertal and Walgau with 1 ski pass and travel free by bus & train. For pedestrians and winter hikers there is the Sonnen-WildPass from 3 days or single trips which can be purchased directly at the cable cars.
Family-friendly promotion: From mid-March to the end of the season, children under the age of 18 travel for free as soon as at least one parent purchases a multi-day WildPass for 5 days or more.

Llama Trekking
Horst Kuster and his llamas and alpacas live in the best panoramic location on the Bartholomäberg - above Schruns in Montafon. Together with hikers, they set off in winter on a two-hour trekking tour in the footsteps of the miners to Kristberg. The llamas carry the luggage and accompany you through the snow. Ice skating and curling
An artificial ice rink awaits ice princesses and hockey gladiators in the Aktivpark Montafon. Ice skating, curling, playing ice hockey or dancing in the ice disco on 1800m2. A special indoor experience on a family winter holiday in the Montafon. Ice skates can be hired directly on site.
Ice climbing
As soon as the freezing cold arrives in the Montafon, it's time to unpack your ice axe and crampons. For adventurers, ice climbing in the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe ice climbing garden offers an exciting challenge with an ice column up to 25 metres high and 35 metres wide.
